On Saturday 3 August we have an outing to see the horse trials at Carleton near Skipton. The event includes the same horse riding disciplines of Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country as the Three Day Events at the Olympics, Badminton and Burghley. Our visit last year produced some outstanding close-up action shots.
The cross country course is not fully marked out so take great care where you stand and listen for warning whistles: best to observe a round or two before getting on with your photos. The event continues on Sunday 4 August.
