On 12 May international photographic medallist and club member Richard Spurdens gave a free public lecture on Powerful Portrait Photos with particular emphasis on how to achieve suitable lighting.
He showed how good results could be secured with natural lighting, and discussed how additional lighting and reflectors could be deployed. ‘Meter for the highlights but process for the dark areas’ was one of his tips. He also showed off various pieces of equipment and provided comprehensive examples of the techniques he was describing.
