Photographing lions in a remote location from the safety of your 4×4 may sound idyllic. But when the alpha male comes your way and you find your battery has run flat, and the electric windows are open, then a cool head is needed.
For guest speakers on 15 November, Tony and Carol Dilger, the only solution was to carry on taking photos and hope that another vehicle came by before the lions got too inquisitive.
Fortunately it did and both lived to produce a catalogue of amazing wildlife pictures. They presented the big five African animals plus many other species including attractive birds and antelope.
The evening was sponsored by Ilkley Arts Festival and the Club was delighted to welcome members of the public.
