Six club members ventured to Utley on 21 July to see one of the finest local examples of a Victorian cemetery. They could admire the carefully planned promenades on different levels, the magnificence of some of the memorials and the charming messages and symbolism displayed on many headstones.
There were opportunities to take wider views but also to home in on specific features. There was also a chance to try special techniques – with a guest appearance by LensBaby and what looks like a touch of infra-red treatment.
All that effort in two hours on a very hot day required suitable refreshment and members were delighted to adjourn to the Pavilion Cafe at Cliffe Castle, just up the road, for a delicious lunch.
