Saddleworth Rushcart 2017

On 25 August we offer an outing to the Saddleworth Rushcart Festival. A colourful scene with plenty of jolly activity. As well as stills photography the music and dance make a great opportunity to try some video work as well.

The 20 foot high rushcart with jockey on top is drawn by morris men through the main street of Delph to its resting point on Gartside Street OL3 5DW, by the Swan Inn, arriving at about 2.15pm. Many Morris sides then show off their exuberant dancing for the next 90 minutes. Look out for the Fool and Molly – no, not the Club’s retiring president and his wife!
