On Tuesday 23 July we have an outing to Ribblehead Quarry. Alison Tetley helps us explore photo opportunities at the ancient quarry and surrounding area including landscapes, limestone pavements and wild flowers.
The quarry is a part of the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve. It has a marked path about 1½ miles long around the reserve. Terrain is predominantly moorland with limestone features including an extensive area of pavement. The quarry floor is relatively flat but stout walking shoes or boots are recommended. We may also view a steam locomotive heading North over the viaduct.
Fuller details are being emailed to members.
