On Friday, 31st November, Ilkley Camera Club held a Members’ Evening.
The event gave everyone the chance to view and discuss the prints accepted for this year’s YPU Exhibition. The evening was introduced by Sharon Sawyer.
Members divided into groups around three tables set out in the hall. Each table was given a selection of prints from a particular genre—portraiture, landscape, creative, and others.
After spending time reviewing and discussing the images, each group reported back to the room, sharing their favourite prints and explaining what they liked about them.
It’s fair to say that everyone enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas about what makes strong photography. The discussions were lively—and at times pleasantly spirited (not everone agreed)!
