On 22 July a select band of Club members ventured to Wakefield for a special exhibition on the work of sculptor Barbara Hepworth. The gallery had given permssion for members to use tripods and, even though the gallery is well lit, this proved a major bonus in getting sharp images.
Club organiser Peter Farmer suggested members think about three types of shot: straight record images with sufficent detail to describe the artwork, images that showed how the artworks related to each other, and shots that showed how visitors related to the artworks. In the event it was the middle category that seemed to present the greatest challenge.
Having had their fill of the artworks, members then adjourned to the very pleasant cafe to have their fill of the delicious food on offer.
