The club outing to Julia and John’s farm on 22 May proved a feast for the 15 club members attending, both photographically and culinary. In the morning many ventured through the woodland and up the steep hillside while others roamed among the sheep on the fells.
Returning to the house at lunch time they were greeted with a luxurious spread prepared by Julia. Not surprisingly after lunch many members chose to concentrate on the animals near the farm house rather than do anything too energetic. There were great opportunities to photograph ducklings, lambs and hens, as well as practical farm work identifying and segregating sheep with twins.
At the close of photography, members gathered again for a farmhouse tea. It had proved a highly enjoyable day thanks to our hosts and near perfect weather.
