On Friday September 13, Ilkley Camera Club continued its new season with a chance for members to show off photos taken over the summer. Seven members presented their images which included a wide range of subjects including nature, landscape, architecture and experimental techniques.
Keith Allen began the session with a striking image of a Long Eared Owl which he explained were difficult to photograph as a species.
Jayne Sanderson presented one of her experimental ICM images (Intentional Camera Movement) which gives a soft blurred effect. An image of birds in flight has been recognised for exhibition by the Royal Photographic Society.
Alison Tetley included some impressive dance images and took members to the Isle of Eigg with an evocative landscape image of Laig Bay.
Glyn Rutter included the familiar statue of Freddy Trueman in Skipton and a 5000 year old Yew tree in Scotland.
Nigel Steels provided a photo of a black and white cutout installation of soldiers silhouetted against wartime beaches.
David James presented a wide variety of shots including a derelict building, life at the Morecambe seaside and a picture of Rochdale’s St John the Baptist church featuring an impressive heaven and hell fresco.
Finally, John Chamberlain included a head-spinning black and white image from the Ilkley Carnival.
