Steam power fans are invited along to Bancroft Mill Engine Trust in Barnoldswick on Sunday 26 May. Photograph the magnificent mill engine in steam. With its two cylinders and 16 foot flywheel it generated over 600 indicated horsepower and originally drove 1,250 weaving looms via its main shaft more than 260 feet in length.
Freeze the action or try to show the wheels in motion. Make the most of shiny metal and oily pistons. How about some close-ups of the mechanisms, textures and bright colours? Free parking; refreshments available. Further details are in a circular to members.
