Saturday 21 July saw club members visiting the East Lancs Railway including the watering holes of Bury, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall. There was a chance to view heritage steam and diesel locomotives and to have the freedom of the track on the trains themselves.
A comprehensive itinerary for the day was put together by club member and rail guru John Slack who provided much additional information about rail history and practice.
