How Our Club Works

Ilkley Camera Club provides a friendly environment in which to socialise and enjoy practical photography. The club is one of most successful in the region in terms of competitions and has a reputation for great photography.

The work that goes into sustaining our club is considerable. We rely heavily on the participation of members to help decision making, finding speakers, running meetings, organising competitions, planning outings, publicity and much more.

To help the smooth running of the club there are some important resources available to help, govern, inform and guide what we do.

Club Rules
These outline the responsibilities of the elected committee, how decisions are made and its constitution. You can find our club rules here

Committee Roles
The club has a small committee which undertakes many formal and informal activities to support the club. We currently do not have a President but these duties are undertaken by the committee members on a cooperative basis. Read about the committee roles here

Data Protection
Protecting personal data and working within data protection law is vitally important. You can find our data protection documents here

Standards of behavior
It is important that all members help to maintain a culture of friendliness, cooperation and tolerance. To help with this we have prepared some notes on standards of behavior. You can find our standards of behavior documents here

Social Media Guidelines
Closely related to standards of behavior, our social media guidelines offer useful ideas about how to avoid conflict and other unhelpful exchanges online. This has become much more since the Covid pandemic and the increased use of online media. You can find our Social Media Guidelines here
